Home of the Universal Parenting Place

Counseling, Classes & Support for Parents, Children, and Families. Services available by telehealth, too. Learn more.

Kindred Place is a counseling and education center for adults and children. While our doors are open to all, we specialize in family dynamics. Through classes, individual sessions, and group therapy (available in English and Spanish), we help individuals and families navigate the challenges of partnerships and parenting to build stronger connections, improve communications, and resolve conflicts peacefully. Thanks to generous donors, we offer income-based financial assistance and free services for victims of domestic violence.

As a counseling center, guided by universal principles of empathy, understanding, and growth, Kindred Place stands unequivocally with Black, Indigenous, and people of color against racial inequities and injustice. We stand with children whose schools have more armed officers than counselors. We stand with mothers and fathers who fear for their children’s safety and for their own, every single day.

Kindred Spirit Blog

As parents and people who work with children, we at Kindred Place understand the instinct to want to insulate and shield children from this atrocity. It’s hard for us, as adults, to process such a tragedy. It can be doubly hard to summon courage to talk with our children.

It can be difficult to summon courage to talk with our children about mass shooting and gun violence.

In this month's Ask Kindred Place segment, therapists Catherine Collins and Patricia Maynard discuss parenting and how to address your boundaries.

  • From classes for divorcing parents to intensive counseling and group therapy, all of our programs and services help children, adults and families form and maintain healthy relationships.
