The Exchange Club Family Center, a local nonprofit agency dedicated to ending family violence, today announced the appointment of Nicky Hitching as its development director.
Hitching, whose career includes extensive experience in business-to-business journalism, writing and editing, comes to the Family Center after six years at Memphis Brooks Museum of Art, where she served as grants manager and was responsible for a wide range of fundraising initiatives.
“Nicky brings tremendous writing skills, a passion for the community and a heart for helping families,” said Jennifer Balink, executive director at the Family Center. “We are thrilled to bring her on board during this exciting time of growth and change.”
A Mississippi native and graduate of Vanderbilt University, Hitching has lived in Memphis since 1993.
“Memphis has a big heart, which inspires the creation and support of essential organizations like the Family Center,” said Hitching. “Our city is better off because of its commitment to families, and I am honored to join this exceptional team.”
